The scientists of the Siberian State Medical University (SSMU) have developed a drug that stimulates the body’s immune system to fight cancer and boost the effectiveness of chemotherapy, presumably, he did not go to the pharmacy before 2016, said one of the developers of the drug Artem Guriev.
The drug is a biologically active polysaccharide contained in the rhizomes plant calamus swamp. However, the polysaccharide is degraded in the gastrointestinal tract of humans, so the new drug is injectable. The drug has no analogues in Russia. In the world of the drug with a similar mechanism of action is made only in Japan, but in Russia it is missing.
Clinical research is planned to begin in 2014-2015.
