RusHydro and France’s Alstom have started construction of a plant for the production of hydroelectric equipment.
In 2011, for the implementation of this project RusHydro and Alstom have created a joint venture, "AlstomRusGidroEnerdzhi", with stakes of 50% plus 1 share and 50% minus 1 share, respectively.
In this case, Alstom ensures the implementation of best practices and the transfer of operational control in the joint venture of advanced manufacturing technology equipment with more support — for that, the partners in March this year signed a license agreement.
Total investment in the project will amount to 125 million euros. In the near future will begin construction work, supply of equipment, recruitment and training of personnel in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Release of the first hydraulic equipment is scheduled for 2014.
The joint venture will manufacture equipment for small hydro power up to 25 MW power plant for medium power (100 MW) for the pumped storage power plants up to 150 MW, as well as accessories.
The plant is the first and most important project of multi-technology park created on the territory of Bashkortostan to form a scientific and industrial cluster development in the Republic of small and medium-sized enterprises. One of the main objectives of the project is to localize the production of hydropower equipment and the development of a network of reliable and competitive suppliers in the territory of the Russian Federation.
In December 2010, Alstom and RusHydro signed an agreement on strategic cooperation, which identifies four main areas of cooperation between the companies: a comprehensive reconstruction and modernization of the Cascade of Kuban power plant, hydropower development, R & D and investment; localization of production of hydropower equipment in the Republic of Bashkortostan. In November 2011, Alstom and RusHydro cooperation extended due to the project of modernization of thermal power equipment generates JSC "RAO Energy System of East".
