In the postwar period, "Ural" meets the high requirements of the country in specialized vehicles. On the basis of the ZIS-5M made dump trucks, garbage trucks, fire trucks and watering.
In 1958 Miasse started producing models ZIS-355M, which coincided with the development of virgin lands. The new car was delivered mainly in Kazakhstan, Siberia and the Far East, where off-road conditions and harsh climate has established itself as a reliable and unpretentious truck. In the early 60’s was put into production the famous Ural-375, designed for the transportation of troops and supplies. This car, and today is used as a chassis for multiple launch rocket systems "Grad". By the beginning of 1979 there were prototypes of the Ural-43201 for use in the Far North. In 1981 he produced the first batch of the conveyor Ural-5920, which has high traffic for heavy off-road (moorland or snow drifts). February 21, 1986 plant "Ural" produced its one millionth car.
In turbulent 90 years the company has gone through a difficult situation. Fatal Six-Year in 1992-1998. was most unfortunate in its history. In 1991, 31371 machines have been collected, the 1998 — 2489 only. Production has declined dramatically in 12.6 times. To survive, the plant had to master the production of non-core products: parts for "cars are" garden equipment and even furniture. In 1998, he completed the painful procedure of bankruptcy.

A new page in the history of the "Ural" began in 2001, when the company became a fully non-government and became part of the machine-building holding "RusPromAvto." Currently, the "Ural" employs 13.8 million people. The territory of the plant is more than 300 hectares, which is 48 times greater than the area of all the exhibition halls of the Hermitage.
