Kaluga plant Peugeot-Citroen-Mitsubishi has launched a full-cycle production

Joint Plant alliance Peugeot-Citroen and Japan’s Mitsubishi in Kaluga started assembling cars in full cycle. The company will produce three models — the new budget sedan Peugeot 408, Citroen C4L, as well as a new SUV Mitsubishi Outlander. 

Russia will become the first country in the world where will be sold new Japanese SUV. Issue Outlander in Kaluga plant will begin in November 2012, not long after the conveyor rise Citroen C4 L.

Full-cycle production in Kaluga was launched today with the start of serial assembly of Peugeot 408 sedan — the first model to be collected on technology CKD assembly.

Since the launch of the full production cycle in the process of assembling cars will be used by the Russian components — stamped parts, bumpers, wheels and tires, seats, instrument panels, etc. With the launch of the full production cycle and the opening of three new shops (welding, painting and assembly), the number of employees of the plant will grow from 1,700 to 2,500 by the end of 2013.
