Karabashmed to build new plant

Combine Karabashmed (part of the Russian Copper Company) has signed a contract with the CIMM Group — developer of basic and detailed design — the supply and installation of a set of equipment for a new sulfuric acid plant.  

The main technological equipment under the contract is purchased in Italy, Germany, Canada, the U.S. and Sweden. According to Mikhail Borisov, Director for the reconstruction of chemical-metallurgical production of Russian Copper Company, the total contract value of $ 41,040 million 

"The new sulfuric acid plant will be built with current technology, and is guaranteed to provide full utilization of sulfur dioxide in a 1.5-fold increase in the volume of production of blister copper in the enterprise", — says Mikhail Borisov.

The construction of a new sulfuric acid plant is scheduled to begin in July 2012 First delivery of the equipment is scheduled for November 2012
