Kirov Tyre Plant introducing nanotechnology to protect

Environment

Kirov Tyre Plant launches the so-called "green" tires. The use of nanotechnology has reduced the fuel consumption and emission levels CO2, to minimize the impact on the environment through the use of environmentally friendly raw materials, as well as the life of the tire and ensure lower noise levels.

Environmental issues were discussed during the visit to the Kirov Tyre Plant chief federal inspector in the Kirov region Ferdauisa Yusupov, who also drew attention to the need to implement an enterprise social support programs and encourage young professionals to raise the prestige of working professions.

The main purpose of the working visit Yusupov became acquainted with the investment project implemented at the enterprise under a tripartite agreement between the Government of the Kirov region, by Pirelli in Russia and "Kirov tire plant" (included with the December 15, 2011 in the joint venture Rostekhnadzor and Pirelli) . Protection of the environment — an important component of the project, according to the website presidential envoy to the Volga Federal District.

The Code of Ethics Pirelli says the company carries out all its activities by means of certified eco-compatible management systems, using production methods and technologies to reduce waste and conserve natural resources by carefully assessing the direct and indirect ecological resonance of its products and services.

The plant is preparing to launch mass production of the so-called "green" tires, developed by Pirelli. Technology Green Performance, used by Pirelli for tire production series Cinturato, reduces fuel consumption and minimize the impact on the environment through the use of environmentally friendly raw materials, as well as the life of the tire and ensure lower noise levels.

Thanks to the innovative structure of the frame is reduced impact on the environment, while maintaining the safety and comfort of driving, as the producer, remained unchanged on dry and wet surfaces.

Nanotechnology applications allowed to make the tread rubber compound resistant to thermal shocks, and also lowered the dissipation of heat by friction, resulting in reduced fuel consumption and emissions of CO2.

Over the life of the tire retains its specifications and provides a high level of security. Tires Cinturato are on average 30% longer, while retaining their performance, compared to previous generations of tires. Accordingly, these tires can be used for more than a year before the planned replacement is added to the Pirelli.

No less attention is paid to the reduction of waste production, their proper storage and disposal. An important step in this direction was the creation of a new centralized waste storage sites. In a closed building with a reinforced concrete floor will be placed all waste products prior to their sale or disposal. For each type of waste identified their place, taking into account the hazard class, physical state, etc.

Where required, the storage equipped with special systems to prevent leakage or fire. Waste will pick up a dedicated transport.

Thus, the area of the plant will be cleaner, and the waste previously stored at various venues, will be stored properly in a closed room.

In December 2012 the company Pirelli has adopted a policy of environmentally responsible procurement. As part of this policy, the company intends to further reduce its own impact on the environment in all that relates to the procurement of materials, products and services.
