Kyrgyz parliament ratified the agreement on the construction of the cascade

Commissioning of the Upper-Naryn cascade and Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant will produce up to an additional 6 billion kWh of electricity per year, providing coverage of winter peak power in Kyrgyzstan, and the possibility of increasing electricity exports.

The parliament (parliament) adopted a draft law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Russian Federation on the construction and operation of Upper-Naryn cascade hydropower stations and the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Russian Federation on the construction and operation of Kambarata 1, signed on 20 September 2012 in Bishkek. "

The development of additional electricity Kambarata-1 will reduce the volume of water in the winter from the Toktogul reservoir and, accordingly, increase flows in the growing season for irrigation needs downstream countries. In addition, the implementation of these projects, a prerequisite for socio-economic development of the Naryn, Issyk-Kul and Jalal-Abad oblasts of the Kyrgyz Republic.
 
Kyrgyz Prime Minister said that this project is important and its implementation will enable the production of additional electricity. However, he stressed that in the future we need to implement similar projects in order to ensure energy security.

Recall that in January 2013 have been summed up an open one without preliminary qualification for the right to sign the contract for a feasibility study for construction of the Upper-Naryn cascade hydropower stations: Akbulunskoy HPP HPP-1 Naryn Naryn HPP-2, Naryn HPP-3 .

The total installed capacity will reach 191 MW cascade, the average annual output — 1,055 million kW • h Construction of all stations can be completed within 4-5 years.

As a partner of the Kyrgyz company RusHydro will perform "Power Plants". Each of the participants in the project will receive 50% in the created joint venture ZAO "Upper-Naryn hydroelectric power station". The Russian side will provide strategic and operational management of the project payback period. Parameters of financing the construction stage will be determined after a feasibility study for the project.
