Mechel has signed a joint venture agreement for the supply of coal to India


Russian mining and metallurgical company "Mechel" and the Indian diversified group Somani Group formed a joint venture (JV) Mechel Somani Carbon Pvt. Ltd., Which will supply coal to small and medium enterprises in India, this is preparing the materials Somani Group.
Warehouse, delivery will be made from coal, will be located in Visakhapatnam, the second largest city in the state of Andhra Pradesh, in the south-east of India. This is the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) reported Somani Group president Atul Verma.
According to him, the annual supply of coal to the joint venture will be 250 thousand tons, while the amount of storage will be 40 million tons in the future network of warehouses in the country could expand to the west and south-west of the country. The first batch of coal in Visakhapatnam will be sent in September 2011.

"Mechel" unites producers of coal, iron ore, steel, rolled products, ferroalloys products, ferroalloys, thermal and electrical energy. Business "Mechel" includes four segments: mining, steel, ferroalloy and power.

Private Indian company Somani Group operates in four areas: steel, oil and energy, utilities and education.
