Mechel sums up the first results of a cut Elga

Neryungri, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). In accordance with the previously announced dates in August began mining at the Elga coal deposit. In less than a month on the cut "Elga" produced about 21 tons of coal.

Start of production is confined to the commissioning of a segment with 1 to 209-km railway line Ulak-Elga, the completion of which is scheduled for December 2011. Before that coal transportation expected to carry heavy trucks with the cut to 209-km, which is equipped with transfer station for onward transport of coal by rail.

Currently at the Elga cut into one watch employs about 120 people. Involved more than 75 vehicles. In addition to mining operations is vertical layout for the construction of an earthen surface of the main industrial area.
