Mechel with BelAZ will create a production of dump trucks


Mechel Group in a meeting of the Supreme State Council (HCV) of the Union State of Russia and Belarus signed an agreement with BelAZ to establish production of dump trucks.

This agreement provides, inter alia, investment, "the Russian side at BelAZ create a new production of heavy-duty dump trucks", "Interfax".

As previously reported, "Mechel-Mining" (run by the mining division Mechel Group) appealed to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation with a request to reduce the customs duty on the import of heavy dump trucks from 15% to 5% of the customs value.
"Mechel-Mining" stated that the production of this equipment in the countries of the Customs Union is absent.

Earlier, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction machinery Komatsu planned to start production of mining trucks (20-30 units per year) in the second half of 2011 at a plant in Yaroslavl.

In the group "Mechel" consolidated controlling stakes in steel, coal mining and energy companies, including OAO "JAkutugol", "Southern Kuzbass" and the American Mechel Bluestone. The band also has its trading ports.
