MODULAR MACHINES REPLACE PARK POLISH tanks and APCs
Inspection of the Ministry of Defence of Poland weapons released two separate requirements for the development of the latest generation of combat vehicles based on modularity Undercarriage UMPG, reports janes.com December 12.

New machines are created to spoof T-72 tanks and BMP BWP-1 Russian times and will be developed in 2-variants — light and heavy with very probable unification of units and components. Approximate price applets up to 2022 will be 2.84 billion U.S. dollars.

Heavy version of the title has Gepard («Cheetah»), on its basis will be made by two types of mc — fighting vehicle specific fire support (Direct Support Vehicles) and armored engineer vehicle (Armoured Recovery Vehicles). DSV is a 35-ton combat vehicle, armed with a 120 mm gun, autoloader (see photo). The concept of this machine (PL-01) development of OBRUM was presented at the Defense Exhibition MSPO in September.

Second version has the designation Borsuk («Badger») and is intended to substitute BMP BWP-1. It should be amphibious remote desert tower, armed 30-40 mm automatic cannon and 2 Israeli-made Spike LAW.

Polish army command waits adopting new machines in the area in 2018, mass production will be completed in 2021. Need to be changed more than 350 T-72 tanks (accepted into service in 1979, was carried out in the establishment license 1981-91, respectively) and more than 1100 BMP BWP-1 (put into service in 1973, the last car was produced in 1988).
