In addition, the Indonesian leadership asserts its intention to purchase at least 180 Russian aircraft (mainly multi-combat "dry") in the next 20 years. "We tend to make this decision because we are facing a clear need for a radical upgrade the Air Force fleet of the country," — said in a statement Marshal Vidzhayanto. "The bulk of the new aircraft will be required to make the Su-30MK2 or future modifications," — said the same.

It should be noted that all of the Air Forces of Indonesia, there are presently 10 fighter "Su": 5 Su-27 and Su-30 of various modifications. Some of them — two Su-27SK and two Su-30MK fighters — have been received under a contract entered into in September 2003. The others — to 3-27SKM Su and Su-30MK2 — were ordered by the Indonesian Air Force in 2007 and 2010, respectively.
