Nickel launched Maggie Hays mine in Australia

July 15. OJSC "MMC" Norilsk Nickel "reported that, according to the production plan of overseas production assets in Australia, the company launched the Lake Johnston mine Maggie Hays.

The production capacity of the mine is 1.2 million tonnes of ore per year with an average nickel content of 1.3%.

Work carried out in accordance with the planned schedule. By the end of 2011, the amount of nickel is expected to 3.6 million tons, with a gradual increase to 9 tons. In order to further increment of the resource base of the project at the II half of planned additional exploration work within the existing deposits in the amount of 18 thousand meters.
