Northern Wastewater Treatment Plant Vladivostok ready to work at full capacity

Northern Wastewater Treatment Plant in Vladivostok for the third month running in test mode. Now they received 12,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day. This is the first treatment in Russia, launched in beta in the winter. At full strength, they will begin to work closer to the summer. At night the northern wastewater treatment plant will be able to pass 50,000 cubic meters of waste water.

The total capacity of all treatment Vladivostok: the northern, central and southern — is 370 thousand cubic meters of waste water per day when applying to Vladivostok, 300000 cubic meters. For comparison — the old sewage treatment could "handle" only 19,000 cubic meters of water.

The central wastewater treatment were launched in September 2011, they now take 45,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day. By May, as soon as warmer, they will take 95-100 thousand, and the design capacity of the treatment is designed to 160,000 cubic meters.

Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant is also ready to receive waste water. In March and April will start building reservoirs and pumping stations, and closer to November, they plan to launch in test mode.

Complete solution of problems accumulated over the years in the field of water and wastewater began in Vladivostok in 2011.

Next to the new sewage treatment in the area of De Vries are old. Today they served only 2,000 cubic meters of waste water capacity of 17,000. However, they have long outlived their usefulness: cleaning technology applied here in 1982 is obsolete.

As part of the reconstruction of treatment facilities planning area of the North was laid new culvert. It is made of high-strength cast iron, has a polymeric insulation on the outside, but from within — cement-lined pipe that does not susceptible to corrosion, even in salt water. The service life of these pipes — more than 50 years.

From the "head" of water flows into the "light" treatment facilities. Here is installed blast-station, which supplies oxygen to maintain the oxidation-reduction processes and microorganisms.

— Here begins the cleaning of micro-organisms — biological treatment. The water here is about 8 hours, after which it is fed to the release. Purified water is fed into the secondary clarifiers. In them there is a separation of biomass that settles down, and clean water is poured into trays and moves on. Biomass — as we call it, activated sludge — again a system of pumping stations is fed into the "head". After purification, the water enters the sand filter and there is doochischaetsya from sand to a level of 3 mg per liter. For comparison, in the drinking water it is 1 mg per liter. After that, the water is disinfected with ultraviolet we, — said Anatoly Samorodov.

According to him, the work of Northern treatment facilities specified by the software, that is, the entire cleaning process is automatic, and all indicators are displayed on the control panel.
