Novatek has decided to increase traffic on the Northern Sea Route from 2 to 17 million tons year-round

Chairman of "Novatek" Leonid Michelson and director of "Rosatom" Sergey Kiriyenko signed the General Agreement on cooperation in the organization of smooth and environmentally safe icebreaking ships along the Northern Sea Route. Provides for icebreaking ships from the port of entry / to the port of Sabetta valid for at least 15 years of age.
Trucking in the Northern Sea Route will be carried out by the Russian icebreaker fleet all the year round.

"Now the company together with Russian Railways is considering the construction of a road to the port together Sabbeta length of 200 kilometers from the last point where the railroad comes," — said Michelson.

From 2016 to begin export of gas production from fields in Yamal, which will ensure full utilization of existing and under construction of three new icebreakers.
