Employees Novgorod scientific restoration workshop "Fresco" is considered lost restored mural of the XIV century "Adoration of the victim" of the Novgorod Church of the Assumption of Our Lady of Volotovo field, told RIA Novosti on Friday workshop leader Tamara Anisimova.

The temple was almost destroyed during World War II, almost all medieval frescoes, painted by an unknown author in the area of about 350 square meters, collapsed. After the war, about 1.7 million fragments of fresco painting was inhibited.

Restoration of the church began in 2001 by the Russian-German project. In 2003, the church was restored. After this, work began to revive her painting. Scientists have recovered and returned to the temple about 20 songs in the work they are more than 150 of the 195 murals. First saved by specialists compositions were returned to the church in the summer of 2008.
