— Indeed, in the next three years, our portfolio will be about 7 billion rubles. This is a crucial moment in the life of the plant: We start the system work. Until now, the plant was engaged in one-off orders that are on the market, worked on the ship repair — with varying degrees of success. It was not a systematic, planned work. Built barges, floating restaurant, helipad. This diverse orders, and each order has been as a head, leading to high costs.
Now we are working on the series. This allows companies to optimize costs and reach profitability, improve work efficiency. Optimized and staffing. In 2009 we have the number of production workers was up to 350 people, and this year already 800 people including subcontractors.

— This is not the fault of the shipping company, but rather, a common problem of all shipbuilding. Our country fell into a pit from which we are just starting to get out. The average return on the ship — 10-12 years, so any ship owner should be able to finance the construction or mechanism of ships in the long term. If you take the projects that are being implemented within the framework of our holding in the area of transport assets, everything is already built on long-term leasing scheme.
Over the next six months in the State Duma should be a law in which the tax benefits will be provided, in particular, the shipyards. Will it have your company to fall under this law?
— We are very interested in the fact that it was quickly adopted, as the shipyards will be considerable reduced tax burden. Construction of the ship takes a long time, and we are frozen resources. We also find ourselves in a tough legal framework for customs clearance of goods. At that today about 80% of the equipment — imported.
Unfortunately, our industry is not able to provide a similar competitive products. Therefore, the law will help us to avoid additional costs. Shipbuilding — it’s such an industry that pulls the other production areas. For example, after the defeat in the Russian-Japanese war revival in the country began with the building of a powerful navy. This has led to the rise of metallurgical, machine-building and engineering companies. And at the beginning of the First World War in Russia was a very competitive fleet. Now we have a similar situation. When shipbuilding begins to breathe in deeply, then many businesses will begin to produce competitive products.
It’s now cheaper to buy a boat on a foreign shipyard, rather than ordering similar to Russia’s. When this situation change?
— The fact that the cost of our operations is much higher than in the West. This is due to the complex issues, which consists of research, development, documentation, technical and technological preparation of production and directly advanced techniques of shipbuilding. The last 15-20 years, the domestic enterprises were taken mainly for the production of housings for foreign customers in the segment of commercial shipbuilding. So, for example, worked Severnaya Verf, Vyborg Shipyard, Baltic Shipyard. The dirty, energy-intensive and time-consuming part of the work of foreign donors to our customers businesses. A high-tech, which are deposited most of the money, leaving behind him. We were not able to compete with them, we have very low levels of productivity.
There is another important point. I note that the Korean and Chinese shipyards, which are now the fastest-evolving, never getting down to work, as long as they are not fully granted all the technical file. And almost all Russian companies are taking up crude project, which has no documentation. Design, equipment procurement and disbursement are parallel. Costs because it is always huge, twice as high as when you have a finished project. In this regard, it is particularly interesting to build a series of ships. What is the meaning unprepared to take on the construction of the ship? This is not a wooden box. This is a high-tech project.
— It’s a matter of downloading, survival of the business. It is often at the forefront of cost terms. In order to download the company, signed orders, when the project is not ready yet.
In particular, we are faced with this project on the rescue ship, which we are now building. We have at the same time there was a process of design, construction and procurement. At present, the total volume of the documentation we have only 90%, while we’re on our way to the finish. The management company organized our visit to the Korean shipyard in Romania. They are taken for the project, which is being developed in Korea, he is ready. So, of course, there is a tremendous technological training. They make advance preparations to launch components of the project into production. And when the process started, the components are made and are included in the production process. Unfortunately, we are working in a different way, but we want to get to the same level.
We do sections, form them into blocks, then saturate blocks — set various pipes, mechanisms. Of course, the cycle we have increased labor costs higher than that of foreign enterprises.
Do NSSP prospects of building new vessels or if you plan to work in a niche where you work now?
— Most likely, we will stay in this niche. Construction of the rescue vessels led us to significantly upgrade the production capacity, which did not have the factory.
The geographical location of the plant includes the construction of ships with a draft of up to 4 m in A rescue vessels with draft of 4.5 m After all, we exist thresholds at the exit to Lake Ladoga and the Neva River, so there are certain restrictions on the construction of ships. For us, the optimal niche — the construction of ships of up to 140 m, a width of up to 17m, with a draft of 3.6 meters
