Nuclear Medicine Center will appear in the Chelyabinsk region in 2012

Nuclear Medicine Center will be established in the Chelyabinsk region in 2012 under an agreement signed by the State Corporation "Rosatom" and the regional government, said on Tuesday the press service of the governor of Chelyabinsk.


Centre for Advancement of Nuclear Physics of medical technologies will develop and introduction of advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment, training of medical and technical skills.

"At Rosatom in the Chelyabinsk region has laid a solid scientific traditions of nuclear technology, which bear a strong potential for innovative development of domestic medicine. In particular, Snezhinsk and Ozersk have the necessary prerequisites for the development of technology and the production of medical isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals based on them, sterilization of medical products, learning the full range of specialists, "- the press service quoted Deputy Governor Paul Ginger, who is in charge in this direction the regional government.

The document was signed by the Governor Mikhail Yurevich and the head of Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko, during a visit to the closed city of Snezhinsk on Monday, November 14.

According to the press service, to March 1, 2012 the regional government and experts from the Closed intend to develop the concept of the structure, medical and scientific support and technical equipment center. Next, consider the proposal at a meeting of the Presidential Commission for Modernization and Technological Development. In the third quarter of 2012, specific proposals for the establishment of the center will be submitted to the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation.
