Number of vegetable stores in Ukraine for 2 years has tripled

About this UNIAN reported in the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine with reference to the words of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
"Two years ago we initiated the development of the logistics, the construction of vegetable stores and wholesale markets. Today we have a dynamic growth in these areas. During 2010-2011 in Ukraine was built vegetable stores three times more than it was before. Maybe it does not fully cover the need, but I am convinced that in the coming years, the work will be even more effective, "- said N.Prisyazhnyuk.
He noted that the Ukrainian farmer is able to raise the amount of fruits and vegetables, which are necessary for the consumer in the country, but due to lack of logistics and storage facilities used to lose up to 40% of vegetables and fruits. "Farmers grown products, and without markets for their crops rotted in the garden or fed to livestock. Farmer did not get a profit, and the consumer — the national quality product, "- said the Minister. According to the head of Agrarian Policy, the Government initiated the program of development of logistics and vegetable stores will eliminate these shortcomings and Ukraine will become less import-dependent in various segments of the food, including fruit and vegetable.
"Export of fruits and vegetables has increased threefold. Already domestic farmers exporting potatoes, apples compete with our Polish markets of the Russian Federation. That is, we are slowly and surely conquer foreign markets and win back inside, getting rid of dependence on imports, "- said the head of the Agriculture Ministry.
