In 2008, experts UHM (OMZ Special Steels, SIC TK OMZ-Izhora) and NGOs TSNIITMASH embarked on R & D for the development of a new product. Total investments amounted to about 30 million rubles.

Scientific and practical work, which resulted in the developed new technology of smelting, forging and heat treatment of high-chromium steel, has allowed for the first time in Russia to manufacture high-tech products paroturbostroeniya — SSKPP turbine rotors.
