Palace of Water Sports officially opened in Kazan

In the capital of Tatarstan commissioned Palace of Water Sports — the penultimate to the 2013 Universiade. The construction of the arena with a capacity of 4.2 million viewers began in November 2009, it cost about 3.6 billion rubles. By the opening of the palace is dated the first test events of the Universiade — Russian high jump championship among juniors, which starts on April 12. "We have made significant adjustments to bring the palace in compliance with the latest standards of the International Swimming Federation (FINA)», — added Leonov. Under one roof are three pools: the main and training, each with a length of 50 meters and a width of 25 meters and a depth of 3 meters, as well as hopping swimming pool equipped with a tower and springboard. All dimensions refer to Olympic standards. The new complex also has a medical center, a fitness room.
