25. House-monument in Bulgaria Buzludja

In the heart of Bulgaria, where they grow roses, is a reserve Buzludja, named after the 1441 meter-high mountains. Once on the Shipka Pass you will see something unexpected, totally pop out of the picture. What you see looks like a flying saucer landed on top and leave the team.

However, this is not a spaceship, and the building and its history is much closer to the ground than it might seem at first glance. House-monument at the top was built in honor of the Bulgarian Communist Party in the 1980s. He was part of a costly project, which included, besides the monument, the construction of paved roads, tourist facilities and a variety of other objects. The house, a monument was built to link the communist regime with the myth of the creation of an independent Bulgaria 1300 years ago.

The place where there is a house-monument, is significant in the later history of Bulgaria. In 1891, the Bulgarian Socialist movement was born. Russian and Bulgarian army defeated the Ottoman troops here in the years 1877-1878.
