Pipeline Dzhubga — Lazarevskoye — Sochi was commissioned

In Sochi hosted celebrations dedicated to this event. It was attended by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Management Board of OAO "Gazprom" Alexey Miller, representatives of construction companies and contractors of the public.

Pipeline "Dzhubga — Lazarevskoye — Sochi" is included in the Russian Government approved Program for Construction of Olympic Venues and Development of Sochi as a mountain resort.

Construction began in September 2009.
Length — 171.6 km, with 90% of the route is part of the sea. The gas pipeline runs along the bottom of the Black Sea along the coastal strip at a distance of about 4.5 km from the coast.

The pipeline has landfalls in Dzhubga, Novomikhailovsky, Tuapse (two) Kudepsta. Currently built automatic gas distribution station, "Dzhugba-1", "Dzhugba-2", "Novomikhailovskoye", "Tuapse."

The diameter of the pipeline — 530 mm, annual production capacity — about 3.8 billion cubic meters. m

The pipeline will provide:
— A reliable power supply to the Winter Olympics and the gas supply to the Olympic facilities;
— The development of gasification of Sochi and Tuapse district, and will be a powerful incentive to improve the quality of life of the population and the development of resort business;
— A significant reduction of energy shortage resort Caucasian coast of the Black Sea.

"Before Gazprom were tasked on energy supply of Olympic venues and infrastructure of the rapidly emerging areas of the Black Sea. With this being said, it was important to preserve the pristine ecosystem of the coast, where every year millions of tourists a rest.

Gazprom has successfully completed the task. Built a unique object of the Unified Gas Supply System of the country — the first Russian domestic marine pipeline "Dzhubga — Lazarevskoye — Sochi."

The pipeline will actively develop gasification of Sochi and Tuapse district of Krasnodar region, improve the quality of life of the population and will give a powerful impetus to the development of resort business, in particular, will fully translate the resorts of the Black Sea in the year-round operation.

One of the major consumers of natural gas will be the Adler thermal power station, which will cover a third of the projected peak energonagruzki during the Olympics, "- said while addressing the gathering, Alexei Miller.
