Polymer production in Russia in January-August increased by 12.4%

Russian chemical enterprises in January-August this year increased production of polymers by 12.4% compared to the same period in 2012 — up to 4.748 million tons, according to the Federal State Statistics Service.

Release of polyethylene increased by 24.1% — to 1.23 million tons,

PP — by 25.8% to 555 thousand tons,

PS — by 25.7% to 297 thousand tons.

PVC production decreased by 0.8% and amounted to 426.3 thousand tons.

Production of synthetic rubber has reached 987 thousand tons (an increase of 6%).

Issue of ordinary and polyesters, polycarbonates, alkyd and epoxy resins for January-August was 343.1 thousand tons (up 1.3%),

polyamides — 91.1 thousand tons (up 9.4%).

Enterprises of the Russian Federation for the eight months increased ethylene production by 20.9% — to 1.78 million tons,

Benzene — by 11.3%, to 793.2 thousand tons,

Styrene — by 22.2%, to 406.1 thousand tons,

phenol — by 2.5%, to 187.8 thousand tons.

Release of propylene increased by 19.8% — to 854.8 thousand tons.
