After the reconstruction and testing of OJSC "Power Machines" start shipping parts and components for hydraulic impeller number 16 Cheboksary HPP. Updated 80-ton body handed over to the representative of the impeller of the customer — JSC "Turboremont-IHC" — for transportation and installation.
The reconstruction of Cheboksary hydroelectric power plant "Power Machines" started five years ago. In accordance with the terms of contracts signed with JSC "RusHydro", "Power Machines", the reconstruction of working with four-wheel hydraulic units of number 7 and number 8 to the modernization of the mechanism of rotation of the blades, including the manufacture of new parts and components. Impeller number 7 was reconstructed power engineering company in St. Petersburg in 2008. Currently, the branch of JSC "RusHydro" — "Cheboksary HPP" completed commissioning work on the new hydraulic unit number 8.
The contract for the execution of similar works on the reconstruction of the impeller number 16 Cheboksary HPP was signed between "Power Machines" and a subsidiary of JSC "RusHydro" — JSC "Turboremont-IHC" in August 2010.
This year, the OJSC "Power Machines" and JSC "RusHydro" expanded cooperation to upgrade the Cheboksary hydroelectric power plant, concluding contracts for the reconstruction of the impellers hydroelectric number number 2, 4, 6, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, including the manufacture of new parts and components of the mechanisms of rotation of the impeller vane. Delivery of the first reconstructed the impeller is scheduled for June 2012, the last — in May 2016. Details of the impeller hydraulic number 4 sent to St. Petersburg to upgrade in October 2011.
The aim of the reconstruction is a translation mechanism for turning the impeller blades of a propeller forced to Kaplan mode. This will provide them with a stable job in the whole range of loads and pressures, involved in regulating the frequency of the power system, and getting the highest level of efficiency.
Cheboksary HPP hydro units are environmentally friendly design with an oil-free bushing of the impeller. This project was developed in the 1970s, SKB Gidroturbomash. According to it, the Leningrad Metal Plant in the 1980s produced equipment for the Cheboksary and Nizhnekamsk HPP. Thus decided the most important environmental issue in the use of water resources of the major arteries of the country — the Volga and Kama — to generate electricity.
Reconstruction of impellers Cheboksary HPP is part of a large-scale program of comprehensive modernization of the station and is aimed at increasing the capacity of hydraulic units, and to increase the reliability and safe operation of the entire plant.
This project continues the successful cooperation "Power Machines" and RusHydro, aimed at the development of domestic hydropower. Currently, the joint forces in addition to restoring the power plant is implementing a number of projects, including the construction of hydropower stations and Boguchan Zagorskaya PSP-2, the reconstruction of hydroelectric Volga, Rybinsk, Saratov and Zhigulevskaya HPP.
