"Power Machines" manufactured and successfully tested a high-speed steam turbine capacity of 1,200 MW. This is the third in a series of four turbines to be installed at existing nuclear power plants in Russia. The turbine will be installed on the second power unit of Novovoronezh NPP-2.
Contracts for supply of main equipment of the machine room for equipment Novovoronezh NPP-2 and Leningrad NPP-2 were signed between "Power Machines" and OAO "Atomenergoprom" in May 2008. At each nuclear power plant will be built on two power units with VVER power capacity of 1,200 MW.
Under the terms of agreements "Power Machines" provide the design, manufacture and supply to Novovoronezh and Leningrad NPP-2 four sets of steam turbines, condensers and auxiliary equipment for the individual turbine systems, as well as four sets of turbine generators with equipment support systems, excitation system and the agent.
In December 2010 he was made and presented to the customer a prototype model of the turbine, designed for the first unit of Novovoronezh NPP-2, in September 2011, made the first turbine unit of Leningrad NPP-2. There is an ongoing manufacturing of units of the second turbine for the Leningrad NPP-2. Its assembly and testing is scheduled for the third quarter of 2013.
High-speed turbine capacity of 1,200 MW nuclear power plant — new developments "Power Machines", focused on the new generation of power units with increased reliability and security. Currently turbine capacity of 1,200 MW are the most powerful high-speed steam turbines in the world. In their design and manufacture of applied art design solutions and technologies, taking into account the experience gained in the manufacture of turbines for nuclear power plants "Kudankulam" (India) and the operation of turbines at the plant "Tianwan" (PRC) and the Kalinin nuclear power plant.
Among the design solutions that enhance the efficiency of the turbine can be called the use of enhanced rotor blade of the last stage of low pressure cylinder length of 1200 mm, the increased steam flow. Currently it is maximum along the length of the blade used in the world for high-speed turbines manufactured from titanium alloy series. The use of one-piece rotors of high and low-pressure coupling halves, as well as the implementation of a number of passive and active measures to protect against the erosion of turbine parts increases reliability. In addition, a number of technical solutions for high maintainability turbine.
Enterprise "Power Machines" for more than 30 years of design and manufacture high-tech equipment for nuclear power plants. Today, high-speed turbine capacity of 1,000 MW of power generating units of work at nuclear power plants in Russia, Ukraine, China and Iran. Regular power units have been installed and will be launched in the near future for nuclear power plants in India. Head samples of high-speed turbine and generator installed capacity of 1,200 MW of new power units at Novovoronezh and Leningrad NPP-2.
