Profotech provides the power supply of the Universiade-2013

RUSNANO project company "Profotech" installed measuring system of its own production at the substation "Backbone" Kazan grids.

PS "Backbone" is one of the strategic sites that will provide power supply for the 2013 Universiade, as well as the central regions of Kazan.

The project is to pilot the introduction of fiber-optic current and voltage transducers was initiated in the framework of the General Agreement on partnership and strategic cooperation between JSC "Profotech" and JSC "Grid Company".

The project was developed and approved project documentation, conducted testing and metrological support equipment to be installed at the State "VNIIMS" dismantled the old equipment, mounted fiber optic converters and connecting fiber-optic lines. 

Fiber optic transmitters are manufactured by JSC "Profotech" are used for accurate measurement of the instantaneous values of current, voltage and phase characteristics, issue of the measured values of the digital interface for secondary equipment — counters metering, telemetry devices, power quality, relay protection and automation. The company’s "Profotech" Fiber-optic current and voltage sensors are innovative and offer a fully digital measurements with the minimum achievable today the percentage of error. WOCAT / H without drawbacks of traditional transformers, and thanks to its compact size and weight — greatly simplifies installation.

Fiber optic converters and integrated meter run on the basis of a single digital bus in IEC 61850-9-2. The complex has ports for data transfer to the IEC 61850 standard. This port can be connected to various secondary devices that support IEC 61850.

Integration Solution "Profotech" in the structure of the energy facility took place parallel to the work of the existing equipment. The complex is connected via standard interfaces to existing systems at the facilities and telemetry measurements without disturbing their work.

As a result of the modernization of 110 kV "backbone" will be able to move to a qualitatively new level of measurement, to provide increased security and observability of the object, and reduce operating costs.
