The newspaper said the country’s Defense Ministry has already submitted to the Ministry of Economy of the relevant draft decision prepared on the basis of a comparative analysis of Russian helicopters helicopters AS-332-C1 Super Puma AS 532 Cougar and manufactured by Eurocopter. Peruvian Defense Ministry plans to use these helicopters in the valleys of the rivers Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro, in the provinces of Junin, Yauli, Jauja, Concepción and Huancayo, reports RIA "Novosti".

Russian proposal was made in the negotiations of the governmental delegation of the Russian Federation and representatives of the Peruvian Ministry of Defense, which took place in Lima in early March. The cost of one helicopter will exceed 16.9 million dollars. According to the plan of supply, 21 helicopters will be delivered to Peru in 2014, three helicopters — in 2015.

The newspaper notes that the Peruvian Ministry of Defense is also interested in supplying the country additional airborne weapons and equipment for the Russian-made helicopters. Russia, in turn, offered to host the training and instruction of pilots — both in Russia and in Peru.
