January 21 in the Adler district of Sochi hosted the celebrations dedicated to the commissioning Adler CHPS.
Enter the newest power plant in operation will significantly improve the energy supply to Sochi, to provide reliable electricity and heat supply of sports and tourism infrastructure in the Imereti lowland sites and development of Sochi as a mountain resort. This significantly reduced the dependence of the Sochi power from neighboring power systems: power Adler CHPS will provide over a third of the projected peak load during a sporting event of 2014. It is planned that in the future Adler CHPS will also provide district heating Blinov in Sochi.
Adler CHPS — a modern combined-cycle power plant capacity of 360 MW (thermal capacity — 227 Gcal / h), consisting of two autonomous units PGU-180. Each of the units includes two gas turbines generating Ansaldo Energia (Italy) and steam turbine Russian producer OAO "Kaluga Turbine Plant".
The group "Gazprom" has started construction work at the site with a total area of 9.89 hectares in 2009.
The power plant was designed and built in a configuration that allows to provide all the basic requirements both in terms of the generation of electric and thermal energy, and to ensure the environmental requirements. Technological solutions and materials used in the construction of the Adler CHPS meet the highest local and international environmental standards.
The modern combined-cycle technology, which operates on the basis of the basic equipment Adler CHPS provides high efficiency (52%), low fuel consumption and reduced emissions by an average of 30% compared to conventional steam power plants.
