Put into operation the first La Yesca hydroelectric power plant (Mexico)

 

Mexico has put into operation the first hydraulic unit capacity of 375 MW of new power plant "La Yesca," for which the equipment was manufactured and supplied by the Russian company — OJSC "Power Machines". The warranty period for the delivered equipment is 24 months from the beginning of its operation.

The project of creating plant "La Yesca" "Power Machines" act as a subcontractor to the Mexican construction companies CPH — a subsidiary of the largest construction firm ICA, which won the tender organized by the Federal Electricity Commission of Mexico in 2007.

In accordance with the terms of the contract signed in 2007, "Power Machines" set for two new hydroelectric turbine capacity of 375 MW each, two hydro-generator, as well as accessories and completed the design and installation of electromechanical equipment machine room on the "turn-key".

Manufacture and supply of the main equipment for two hydroelectric "Power Machines" completed in 2010. Currently at the plant continue commissioning the second hydraulic unit, to be commissioned in November 2012.

HPS "La Yesca" — a unique hydro construction with the world’s highest dam is a concrete surface. Its height is 220 meters. The total nominal capacity of the plant after the start of the second hydraulic unit is 750 MW. The new station is part of the hydropower cascade on the Rio Grande de Santiago on the border of the states of Jalisco and Nayarit. For the two stations of the previously built stage — GES "Aguamilpa" power of 975 MW power plant "El Cajon" capacity of 750 MW — main power equipment also put "Power Machines ".
