Red Boiler has shipped the first building MO-1800 for Kursk

August 25. Taganrog Boiler Plant "Red Boiler" (the main production site of "EMA") has shipped the first building
low-pressure heater PN-1800 for Kursk, weighing 17.1 tons
The new equipment is intended to replace carbon steel body of existing low-pressure heaters Kursk. Stainless steel type 08Cr18Ni10Ti highly erosion and corrosion resistance, which in turn can significantly increase the reliability of both the heater and the plant as a whole.
In total, the contract "Red Boiler" will produce six cases of low pressure heaters to the station. Completion date — October 2011.
The contract for the supply of equipment between JSC "EMA" and signed by the customer in October 2010. As part of the agreement, "EMA" committed to complete the project and put the case of low pressure heaters
PN-1800 for Kursk.
Equipment for nuclear power plants is different and demanding a high level of complexity. New chassis PN-1800 are designed to meet existing regulatory and technical documents and fully comply with the safety requirements for nuclear power plants.
The peculiarity of this project — the case of PN-1800 is made of stainless steel, which requires specific skills in welding. Equipment used in the manufacture of welded construction expander enclosure. This reduces the cost of the product and increase the chances of the customer for replacement of standard enclosures on all currently operated heaters of this type.

Recall that PN-1800 are designed to preheat the feed water recovery system of low pressure turbine nuclear power plant reactors of the RBMK-1000.
Shells constructed at the "Red Kotelshchik" will expand the reference of Taganrog Boiler Plant and once again demonstrate that the short-circuit current of "Red Boiler" was and still is one of the few companies able to produce virtually any type of equipment for nuclear power plants.
