Retail sales in Ukraine in January-March of 2013 at constant prices grew by 13.4% compared to January-March 2012, the State Statistics Service said Tuesday.
According to her, in nominal terms, retail sales for the two months of this year amounted to 184.91 billion USD.
The Statistical Office said that in March retail sales of retail trade and restaurant business increased by 9.4% compared to March 2012 and by 13.9% — compared to February 2013, to UAH 34.252 billion.
In January-March, retail sales of retail trade and restaurant business increased by 10.8% compared to January-March last year — to 94.62 billion USD.
The maximum increase in retail trade turnover in January-March 2013 was recorded in Vinnitsa (16.5%), Zaporozhye and Odessa (16.3%), Luhansk (15.8%), Kherson (14.9%), Kharkiv (14.6%), Volyn and Nikolaev (14.5%), Donetsk, Chernihiv and Khmelnitsky (14.0%) regions.
In the ARC, retail sales for the three months increased by 14.7% in Sevastopol — by 16.4%, and Kiev — by 12.1%.
Leaders in terms of absolute volume of retail trade turnover in January-March-2013 steel Kiev (24.72 billion USD), Donetsk (17.8 billion USD), Dnipropetrovsk (14.71 billion USD), Kharkiv (13.76 billion USD) , Odessa (11.58 billion USD), Zaporozhye (8.66 billion USD) area.
It was reported that retail sales in Ukraine in 2012 increased by 15.9%.
