Rosstat: Russia’s population is 4 months increased by 41.7 thousand people

The resident population of Russia for 4 months of 2012. increased by 0.03%, or 41.7 million people, and on 1 May 2012. amounted to 143.1 million people. These data are contained in the operational report of Rosstat. At the corresponding date last year there was a decrease in population of 11.5 million people, or 0.01%.

The natural decrease of population in January-April 2012. decreased compared to the corresponding period of 2011. 52.3 thousand people. The increased net migration is fully compensated for the loss of numerical population and exceeded them by 86.0%.

In January-April 2012. Russia was an increase in the number of births (In 75 regions of the Russian Federation) and the decrease in the number of deaths (70 subjects). Throughout the country, the excess of deaths over births in January-April 2012. was 1.1 times (in January-April 2011. — 1.2 times) in 17 regions of the Russian Federation, it was 1.5-1.9 times.
