Russia will be able to export to Japan up to 4 GW of power

Under the plans, the project "Construction of the power bridge Khabarovsk — Sakhalin — Japan" is expected in several stages. In the first phase scheduled for laying submarine cable "Sakhalin — Hokkaido" to pass on it of excess capacity of the Sakhalin energy system, which will appear in the region after the implementation of plans for the development of existing generating capacity. As part of the further stages of considering the construction of export coal generation in the island of Sakhalin, and the grid connection of the island with ECO East for the transfer of energy to Japan from the mainland.
