Russia won the right to take XXVIII International Olympiad in Informatics 2016

XXVIII International Olympiad in Informatics (International Olympiad in Informatics, IOI) will be held in the summer of 2016 in the "Innopolis" next to Kazan. For the first time the right to take the Olympics as a Russian city. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.

International Olympiad in Informatics held in 1989 and is one of the world’s most prestigious annual competitions in programming, which is held under the patronage of UNESCO and IFIP. In the competition teams from different countries, consisting of four members and two executives for two days solve algorithmic problems.

At the 24th International Olympiad in Informatics, held recently in Italy, won by the teams of Russia and China, scored four gold medals each. In the team table of Russia and China share a 1-2nd place was shared 3-4 places Romania and the United States. A total of 82 countries participated in the competition. In the individual competition, all participants of the Russian school science team entered the top twenty. Egor Suvorov took 5th place (504 points), Maxim Akhmedov — 7th (456 points), Oleg Ivanov — 17th place (411 points), and Alexei Gordeev — 20th place (394 points).

In 2013, 2014 and 2015 competitions will be organized in computer science in Australia, China and Kazakhstan.
