Federal Archival Agency (Rosarchiv) On Tuesday launched a unique website "Documents of the Soviet era," which provided access to an electronic form of more than 400 thousands of materials from the personal fund of Joseph Stalin and the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. 

The project is based documents from the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History — the former Central Party Archive of the CPSU, said Tuesday the head of Andrew Rosarkhiv Artizov at the launch site.

All materials are divided into two blocks: the materials of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the RCP (b) for the years 1919-1933 and materials from the private fund for all the years of Stalin‘s life leader.

The total volume is 390,000 pages, or about 100,000 documents. Work on digitizing took about five years. Documents can not only read, but also to print, set a bookmark in the text. It is also important that users can get the code for quotation on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.

Artizov pointed to the importance of the publication of documents in preparation for the new history textbook. This issue was discussed at a meeting on the eve of the Presidium of the Russian Historical Society.

"The process of self-identification of modern Russia will not be completed until together we have not developed a balanced approach to the Soviet era. Approach, which will be based on an objective analysis and would like to achieve a sober assessment of the time, and the price you had to pay for the community and the citizens of these achieve "- said Artizov.

Agrees with him and the rector of State Humanitarian University, historian Yefim Pivovar.

"What is important and informative and methodical element of this process. We are at the stage of preparation of the new history textbooks. These materials previously unavailable wide range of readers, should be reflected in the textbooks for middle and high school," — said the rector.

"A lot of discussion going on these subjects and open access to this information will put to rest some of the radical positions, will use a scientific approach to the analysis of the processes that have taken place and that we are not silent about, and are willing to learn, interpret, to a new level with the use of the wealth of materials, "- he added.

Chapter Rosarkhiv also said that the English version of the site in the future will be available in other countries, particularly in the U.S.. "It will be a paid subscription, much of the income from which will flow into the Russian budget," — he said.

According Artizova, plans Rosarkhiv publication of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of documents on the activities of the Soviet Military Administration in Germany, the German captured documents and fund the National Defense Commission.
