Russian became the world champion’s skeleton in Switzerland

Alexander Tretyakov of Krasnoyarsk became the first Russian to win a gold medal at the World Cup skeleton.

The world championship bobsled and skeleton takes place in Switzerland from January 25 to February 3.

Tretyakov won the first three races tournament, and the fourth kept the advantage, showing up in the overall result of 4 minutes 32.35 seconds. Of Krasnoyarsk for the first time won the World Cup, he had previously held the third place in 2009 and second in 2011.

The silver medalist was the winner of the previous two championships, World Cup leader Latvian Martins Dukurs, straggler by 0.03 seconds (4.32,38), and the bronze medal — Russian Sergei Chudinov (4.34,62).

Anton Batuev (4.38,68) took 19th place.
