Russian bombers simulated strikes against targets the U.S. missile defense

Russian long-range bombers worked cruise missile strikes on U.S. missile defense sites off the coast of Japan, the Western media reported, citing sources in the American military establishment. 

Bomber Tu-22M February 26 simulated launches of cruise missiles at U.S. Navy destroyer, equipped with missile defense Aegis, off the coast of Japan, according VIEW citing Washington Free Beacon.

The next incident occurred on February 27: Bomber worked missile strike on the missile defense facilities in Japan.

According to sources, it is not clear why the Russian military conducted testing of strikes. However, the simulation may mean that "Moscow could target its ballistic missiles in Japan or the U.S. military bases in the region," the newspaper notes.
