Russian scientists have created a unique small-sized radar

Experts of NPK "Scientific Research Institute of distant radio", part of the holding of "RTI", has created a unique space-saving radar metric radio waves "groundhog", Deputy General Designer of "RTI" Vyacheslav Lobuzko.

"It is designed for the rapid creation of circular bands of radar detection and tracking of low-altitude aerial objects — airplanes, helicopters, gliders, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles in the near zone of responsibility of critical facilities" — said Lobuzko.

According to him, "Marmot" may be used in land-based systems the continuous monitoring of the air situation.

In particular, in the systems of protection of the airspace in the vicinity of critical facilities or to combat illicit air transportation, transfers "Interfax".

Radar "Groundhog" will be presented at the exhibition Open Innovations Expo, to be held from October 31 to November 2 at the Moscow International Forum of innovative development of "Open Innovation".
