Russian volleyball team won the European Championship in 2013

Russian women’s team won the European championship in 2013. In the final Russians met the hosts of the tournament with the German national team. The meeting ended at four games 3:1 (25:23, 23:25, 25:23, 25:14).

In the semi-final the Russian team beat the national team of Serbia and the German team was stronger against Belgium. Third place in the tournament won the Belgian, beating in the consolation final of Serb women.

Last time the Russian team won the European championship in 2001 in Bulgaria. Russians also won the continental championship in 1999, 1997 and 1993.
