Serbian authorities have included the Russian ruble in the list of currencies traded in the foreign exchange market of the country to develop a Serbian-Russian relations in the financial sector, a source at the National Bank of Serbia.
"The inclusion of the Russian ruble in the list of currencies traded in the market of the Republic of Serbia, will carry out financial transactions in this currency, which will contribute to further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the real and financial sectors," — says the document, transmits
Thus, the Serbian National Bank "recognizes the fact that a large part of the Russian Federation, the foreign trade of Serbia, a special relationship to the duty-free trade between the two countries, as well as the presence of significant investment by large Russian companies in Serbia."
Rubles will be able to trade, banks and other holders of licenses for the purchase and sale of foreign currency.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the executive committee of the National Bank and will enter into force on the eighth day after the publication in the national print edition "Official Gazette".
