"Atomflot" (part of "Rosatom") and "Baltic Shipyard — ship" (part of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation", USC) signed an agreement on the construction of the head of the atomic icebreaker new generation.
Their agreement was signed by General Director of "Rosatomflota" Vyacheslav Ruksha and Acting chapter "Baltic Shipyard" Artem Pidnik in the presence of the first deputy general director of "Rosatom" Ivan Kamensky and vice-president of USC Dmitry Mironenkova.
As reported, the tender for the construction of a new nuclear-powered icebreaker was announced on June 29. The project cost will amount to 36.959 billion rubles. Icebreaker capacity — 60 MW. Icebreaker to be built before December 30, 2017 and delivered to the dock "Atomflota" in Murmansk.
Icebreaker can get the name of the "Arctic".
The new icebreaker will be different from the previous generation of the special ballast system that will allow him to change the draft, which will run on the Northern Sea Route and in the rivers of the Arctic region.
It is planned to build two nuclear-powered icebreakers new generation — in 2019 and 2020.
"Baltic Shipyard" is specialized in the construction of icebreakers and ice-class vessels (with nuclear power plants and diesel), large vessels for the transport of cargo and military ships.
At the moment in respect of JSC "Baltic Shipyard" procedure in place for surveillance society is the legal successor of the recently created "Baltic Plant — shipbuilding."
