Soyuz spacecraft flew to the ISS is 8 times faster than normal

Manned spacecraft "Soyuz TMA-08M" with the next expedition to the International Space Station to reach their destination in record time — the flight took only six hours. Previously, it took two days.

Was first carried out the so-called short circuit of the flight. The ship made only four turns around the Earth, whereas normally do 30, so the flight was reduced by more than eight times. 

Currently, astronauts have already switched to the ISS after the docking procedure.

Launch of the "Union" with the next mission to the ISS occurred on the night of March 29 at 00:43 MSK from the starting complex of the platform number 1 Baikonur cosmodrome.

On board is a crew 35/36-y ISS as part of the commander — Roscosmos cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov and flight engineers — Alexander Misurkin (Roscosmos) and Christopher Cassidy (NASA).

The planned duration of the new expedition will be 168 days. Astronauts have to program of 42 scientific experiments, several spacewalks, and they will unload and four Russian truck "Progress" European transport ship and ATV-4.
