Following a successful trial started recruiting nitriding furnaces new oxygen sensor, remote type, based on stabilized zirconia. Zirconia is the best and most common material for the determination of the concentration of oxygen, as evidenced by the extensive use of zirconium sensors from automobile fuel systems to the most accurate gas analyzers. Zirconia generate EMF which depends linearly on the concentration of oxygen in the measurement gas that can accurately measure the oxygen concentration in the entire possible range.

Remote sensor design to get a reliable pre-existing structure of the oxygen sensor immersion type. New sensors can determine the potential nitrogen atmosphere furnace, not only the saturation step, but also steps purge cooling. Also, using the external oxygen sensor can monitor the quality of the process gases (ammonia nitrogen) to supply gas to the furnace. External universal oxygen sensor, and depending on the configuration the secondary device can determine the nitrogen, carbon or oxygen potential, which will set it on the stove with various protective atmospheres. The extended design allows you to easily verify the sensor and, if necessary, enter the adjustment indication. Sensor design provides for the replacement of individual elements, which reduces the cost of operation and prolongs its service life. Installing the oxygen sensor can bypass outside the furnace, which allows to control the atmosphere in the electric arc furnace of any design.
