Started international exercise in the Barents Sea — POMOR 2013.

The large anti-submarine ship "Vice-Admiral Kulakov" and the Norwegian frigate "Helge Instad" began joint exercises in the Barents Sea, said May 11, 2013 Head of Information Providing the press service for the Northern Fleet WEST Vadim Serga.

"The five-day joint exercise will be held in the Barents and Norwegian Seas. Main purpose of teaching — Improvement of joint actions of the Russian and Norwegian military in the Arctic", — V. Sergei.

In the exercise will include joint anti-piracy and search operation involving the Marines, the release of the vessel from the civil armed extremists, ensuring the safety of the civilian shipping, fast boats to intercept the offending state borders, search and rescue operations.

Also included in the plan of artillery firing at air and surface targets, anti-air threats, detection and attack submarine. In addition, the planned naval helicopter landing on the deck of the Russian and Norwegian ships.

After performing combat training missions teaching, the eve of the Day of the Constitution of Norway, a large anti-submarine ship of the Northern Fleet, "Vice-Admiral Kulakov" will make a return visit in the business Norwegian port of Bergen.

It should be noted that this is not the first joint exercise of the two ships. Before that they had met on the
