The company Navis will supply dynamic positioning system for multipurpose vessel Aura II

The company "Navis" and STX Finland Oy signed an agreement according to which "Navis" will supply dynamic positioning system NavDP4000 on multifunctional cargo vessel Aura II, currently under construction at the shipyard STX Corporation in Turku (Finland).

Aura II — multipurpose ship design innovation, designed for carrier-based transportation of goods, and to combat the effects of oil pollution. "Navis" equip ship non-redundant dynamic positioning system DP1, meeting the requirements of the class BV DYNAPOS AM / AT.

NavDP4000 — produced by a new generation of dynamic positioning systems, combining the most successful features of the previous generation — Navis IVCS — with the latest trends of the technology implemented in the new system. NavDP4000 interface is implemented on the basis of technology of "touch-screen", which provides quick access to all features and modes of the system. This allows you to minimize the number of buttons on the main control system.

The system implemented an innovative control algorithm power plant vessel, ensuring a rapid response system for the inclusion of external consumers (fire pump, etc.). This is to prevent failures caused by accidental unplugging the power plant and automatically reduce the amount of energy consumed by a dynamic positioning system. Accuracy of the target position and the course, however, remains unchanged.
At present the company "Navis" has shipped more than 350 dynamic positioning systems on vessels of various types around the world.
