Author and Project Manager "The development of diagnostic test kits, microarray format for parallel measurement of the levels of allergen-specific immunoglobulin E in human serum", Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics, LLC "Vega" Alexander Pavlov commented on winning the competition, "I note that the appearance of our project due to the time, its implementation is vital to the growing army of people with allergies. The growing number of people suffering from various allergic diseases, today is so great that the phenomenon is more commonly called "allergy epidemic". The result of our work will be the creation of a radically new diagnostic test system to identify the causes of allergic sensitivity and correct diagnosis based on analysis of the patient’s blood. We developed a test system will significantly improve the accuracy of diagnosis, and therefore the effectiveness of the treatment, which ultimately lead to better quality of life. In this project, we have proposed a really innovative approach which will bring in vitro (outside a living organism) ALLERGODIAGNOSTICS to a new level. "

Speaking about the essence of the project is the winner of the Contest is worth mentioning that the developers have applied several new approaches in the diagnosis of allergic conditions, among them — the microchip platform (microarray). Microchipping technology allows to place within one field for the analysis of several hundred individual markers making it possible to analyze the sample by several panels of allergens simultaneously using allergenic components (purified and recombinant allergenic proteins) instead of extracts. Miniaturization of the diagnostic platform allows to use less expensive allergenic components and be used for analysis of microliter volumes of serum is particularly important for neonatal screening.
