The contract for the construction of a plant for the production of ammonia in the Vologda region

The new energy-efficient ammonia production will open in Vologda. Total investments amount to $ 785 million. The signing of the contract between the Group of Companies "FosAgro" and the international consortium for the implementation of major investment projects in the region took place on Friday, June 21, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The signing ceremony of the Agreement with a consortium of leading international corporations, which will be entrusted with the implementation of the investment project, was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov, vice-president of the Russian Union of Chemists Andrey Guriev.

"We are witnessing a historic event — the signing of a contract for the supply of equipment for the construction of ammonia production in the territory of the Vologda region, one of the largest in the world — the head of the region, Oleg Kuvshinnikov. — It will increase the amount of ammonia in the Cherepovets industrial site by 70 percent. Over the past few years, the volume of investments in its development, has exceeded 70 billion rubles. Group entities "FosAgro", which are major employers for us to continue to grow, and today we celebrate a new beginning. "

The project for the construction of the ammonia unit capacity of 2,200 tons / day (760,000 t / year) is one of the key projects of long-term modernization strategy of the Group "FosAgro", developed by the National University of mineral resources "Mountain" (St. Petersburg).

The new production of ammonia will be built using the latest technology and will be the most powerful of operating and under construction in Russia. On the technical and economic parameters new ammonia unit will meet the best world analogues for the consumption of raw materials and energy, labor productivity and the minimum level of impact on the environment. Specific consumption of natural gas in new energy-efficient ammonia plants will be 20% less than the industry average in Russia. To ensure the new ammonia plant raw material "Gazprom" has already agreed that additional volumes of natural gas at a rate of 800 million cubic meters per year.

In addition to the expected increase in tax revenues of the consolidated budget of the Vologda region and the creation of new jobs will receive further impetus to the development of regional infrastructure and related industries, as well as housing for the personnel of the Group Cherepovets "FosAgro."
