Institute "Ekoenergia" Ukrainian Academy of Sciences signed a contract for the supply of electric steam-plasma water purification systems from radioactive contamination from the Japanese company Vasaki Sktec for the nuclear power plant Fukushima-1 at one million euros. This is UKRINFORM the president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Alexei Onipko.
According to him, at present there are no analogues in the world of such a system, which would work on the water. "There is a development of plasma systems operating with air, but with water — no, it is a novelty," — said the president of UAS.
He also said that the system — experimental and in case of success, ONE expects to sign with Japanese experts more than a major contract to supply it. "On Monday we go out there and be in place to carry out experiments. If successful, it will be important contracts. And the main thing — it’s the prestige of Ukraine ", — said A. Onipko.
Replying to a question whether the proposed academy experts to help in the localization and elimination of the consequences of the accident at the plant earlier, A. Onipko noted that Ukrainian technology and assistance was offered to the Japanese side immediately after the accident. However, given the high competition of world technology, but now the Japanese side is considered the proposals of Ukrainian scientists. According to him, the Japanese have faced the problem of disposal of sorbents used in water purification. In connection with this notice the development of UAS, in which during cleaning not apply any reagents. In this case, the system can purify water not only from radioactive materials, but any other contaminants, said A. Onipko.
Recall that on Monday, December 5 employees nuclear power plant Fukushima-1 discovered a leak of 45 tons of radioactive water.
After what happened on March 11 in Japan quake due to the failure of the cooling system at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant explosions occurred on the first, second and third unit, later the explosion occurred, and several fires at the fourth power. Due to several leaks of radiation authorities evacuated people from the 20-kilometer zone around the plant, as well as a ban on flights over the station within a radius of 30 kilometers.
Earlier, the government reported that the complete destruction of the deactivated soil of the Fukushima prefecture will take at least 30 years of age.
