Official unemployment in Russia in October decreased by 3.9% to 992 thousand people, according to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
"From 26 September to 25 October 2012 the number of unemployed persons registered with the employment services fell by 3.9%, or 40,483 people, and as of October 25, 2012 amounted to 992,320 people," — said the ministry .
Registered unemployment in Russia by October 26 was 1,030,000 people.
The number of unemployed people fell in October in 73 regions of Russia. The maximum reduction was noted in Kalmykia, Tuva, Perm Krai, the Jewish Autonomous Region, Kostroma, Ryazan and Kurgan regions.
The number of unemployed persons registered with the employment service has increased in ten regions: the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka region, Tatarstan, Ingushetia, Chechnya, Chuvashia, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Kemerovo, Amur and Murmansk regions.
According to Rosstat, the overall unemployment rate in Russia in September was 4,000,000 people (5.2% of the economically active population).
